The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) has awarded Enabled Intelligence a contract worth up to $708 million over seven years to support the training of AI-driven computer vision systems.
Under the Sequoia program, the company will provide data labeling to enable artificial intelligence and machine learning tools to distinguish between objects, including processing satellite imagery and identifying targets of interest.
The effort is a core component of NGA’s expansive Maven program—considered the largest AI data labeling initiative in the US government. NGA assumed responsibility for Maven from the Department of Defense in 2022.
According to the company, the Sequoia contract will support GEOINT AI and ML activities across multiple NGA programs and directorates, as well as the broader Department of Defense and Intelligence Community.
NGA collects and analyzes imagery from satellites and aircraft, producing GEOINT products such as 3D maps for decision-makers across the US government.
Virginia-based Enabled Intelligence, founded in 2020 and backed by venture capital, specializes in AI data labeling for classified systems. For the Sequoia program, the company partners with BAE Systems, Vantor (formerly Maxar Intelligence), Whiteboard Federal, and others.
